In order to adapt to the development tendency of school-based curriculum in high school, meet the social requirement of diversity and individuation of talents, and reflect the student’s new needs of reading instruction on Chinese classics, the Chinese teacher must has the ability of school-based curriculum development. The study is based on reading classics instruction status in high school of the Chinese mainland, which is a lack of reading strategies cultivating, shortage of fresh curriculum resources and sameness of instruction. It aims to develop an school-based curriculum called "approaching classics in high school", which uses different strategies and combines mass culture resources what students like with instruction, through four parts,"pictorial reading classics","interesting reading classics"," sensuous reading classics" and "easy reading classics",in order to let student approach classics, improve the level of reading classics of high school student and create an efficient and pleasant atmosphere. The paper will be included as following:Firstly, Sorting out the school-based curriculum development researches at home and abroad, and studying the cases of the school-based curriculum about "reading classics" in mainland China. Thus, understanding the significance,current situation and problems of the school-based curriculum development about "reading classics". And make a brief summary of the domestic research on it.Secondly, Inspecting the development environment of experimental school’s school-based curriculum about "reading classics" from the students, the school culture and curriculum resources. Proposed the nature, concept and design idea of "approaching classics in high school". And defined the curriculum goal, curriculum arrangement and teaching evaluation mode.Thirdly, it will clarify content of "approaching classics in high school", suggest the curriculum implementation and summarize the problems after the process.In this article, literature research, survey research and activity research are applied to explore the theoretical basis of the school-based development. We also do a lot of work for this curriculum, such as environmental analysis, course objectives, instructional design, curriculum implementation and reflection. And developing a curriculum program to improve the reading interest of high-school students and training the reading strategies as the target. Meanwhile, tracking the influence of the curriculum program on students and teachers aims to test and rich the theory. This study pays great attention to record the activities, accumulated more than ten thousand words of curriculum standards, records of classroom teaching, investigation analysis, self-reflection of teaching and interview record, truly practicing the idea of "the teacher is also a researcher". It also provides research methods and ideas of school-based curriculum for the teacher in the future.
