Music has an extremely far-reaching influence on people’s quality. With thedevelopment of the times and the increasing richness of the communication channels,music has become one of the important art forms of human spiritual world. Musiceducation plays an important role in the development of human. In the cultivation issue,music is not only the means but also the goals. Music education in school should inspirethe students to feel, perform, make music and experience the beauty of music throughlearning music. On the other hand, music education could cultivate more students toadapt to the society better, promote the harmonious development of the society andinherit the music culture. The method of music education is multifarious at all times andin all countries. For the secondary vocational schools, music education takes anunderestimated part in cultivating the students’ aesthetic quality, improving the students’morality and shaping the students’ perfect personality.What about the current situation of the music education in the secondary vocationalschools? Which effective methods should be taken in music education to display thefunctions of the music education? From the perspective of how to enhance theeffectiveness of music education, this study analyzes and elaborates the functions of themusic education in secondary vocational schools by using the method of investigationand literature survey. Aiming at the existing problems of the music education, this studyprovides the specific methods of exerting the functions of music education based on themusic education practice of the Qin Huangdao vocational and technical school. By thecombination of the flexible music classroom and the colorful extracurricular activities,this study combines the music education and the characteristics of the majors. This studyalso conforms to the vocational students’ physiological and psychological state so as topromote the music teaching reform in the secondary vocational schools and truly reflects the value of music education.
