The self-improvement is a kind of individual self-motivation, which can be a driving force to self-affirmation and shaping positive self, desiring to seek positive self-evaluating. Such a motive would restrain children’ social adjustment, personal adjustment, social interaction, peer interaction, mental health. The appropriate self-improvement motivation can promote the formation and development of individual mental health and good personality. From the moment of birth, children are faced with the adaptation of his mind and body to adapt to the world, good ability to adapt to the development of children plays an important role.In this paper, the survey chose92children from the middle class and the top class off three public kindergartens in Beijing and107floating children from the middle class and the top class of two floating children kindergartens. To investigate their the status of self-enhance and social adaptability, and to explore the relationship between the two respects. This study reached the following conclusions:The study of the floating children’s self-promotion performance shows that most children have self enhancement motives.(1)Floating children has no significant gender differences on over claiming, but has the difference in grade, over claiming bias will decrease with the growth of the age, cognitive accuracy rate increases with the age.(2)The floating children’s self attribution’s self promotion research shows that the most of the children has the self-attribution motivation, and has no sex differences, but has the difference in grade, the self-attribution motivation in the top class is higher than the middle class, the self-attribution motivation is higher in the floating children than that of the ordinary children.The research of the floating children’s social adaptability discovers that:(1)there’s no gender difference and these has difference in grade in children’s social adaptability, the social adaptability in the top class is higher than the middle class, the social adaptability in floating Children and normal children has no significant difference, but in the study of early childhood imagination work is higher in the normal children than that in the floating children.(2) The study of floating children’s peer status discovers that in peer groups the children of the general type is the most, the number of the controversial type children is minimum, the other three groups in equal proportions.(3) The study on the floating children’s peer interaction skill show that peer interaction ability is not affected by gender, but has the difference in grade; the peer interaction ability of the middle class is higher than the top class. There is no difference between the normal children and the floating children in the peer interaction skill. The comparison of the floating children’s peer status and the peer interaction ability found that the children’s peer ability in the popular type and the controversial type is the strongest, and the rejected children’s peer interaction ability is the poorest.(4)There’s no grade and gender difference of in the floating children’s loneliness, there’s no significant difference between the floating children and the ordinary children. The comparison of the floating children’s peer status and the loneliness found the rejected type’loneliness is the strongest, the popular type and the controversial type’s loneliness is minimum.There exists a certain relationship between Children’s social adaptations and self-promotion. In general, children’s self promotion can positively predict social adaptation and peer communication ability and has negative influence in loneliness.(1)The related research about over claiming and social adaptation of the floating children show that migrant children’s bias and social influence can positively correlate with peer interaction ability. The accuracy rate of floating children in cognition, cognitive accuracy and loneliness, social influence negatively correlated loneliness.(2)The related research about self serving attribution research and social adaptation of the floating children show that the floating children’s self-serving attribution was positively correlated with social adaptation and negatively correlated with.
