As a meeting point for multi modes of transport, the status of the port is moreprominent in the modern integrated logistics system. The popularity of the modernlogistics’ concept and the requirements of logistics’ practice have prompted the port by asingle transport node to an integrated logistics center which provides a full range ofvalue-added services. The port logistics will become an important support for theregional economic development and upgrading of industrial structure. As a uniqueinland port city which sets water、land and air modes of transport in one,Chongqing hasa significant location advantage. With the in-depth implementation of the country’swestern development strategy, market and resource-oriented eastern industrial isgradient transferring to hinterland with the advantages of the port. It provides a goodspace for the development of Chongqing Port Logistics. However, due to the restrictionsof the industrial structure and geographical conditions, compared to the coastal portlogistics, Chongqing port logistics started late and its foundation is poor. It’s more a lackof research in the relationship between the inland port logistics and economic growth. Inthis context, the study on the relationship between logistics and economic growth of theinland port helps the importance of the port logistics in the economic development ofChongqing clearly. It is of great significance to promote the coordinated development ofChongqing’s economic growth and port logistics, but also provides a reference for otherinland port city in practice. This paper is based on using the co-integration theory, taking Chongqing which isthe representative inland port city in western region as an example, using the Eviewssoftware for co-integration analysis and Granger causality test, from the logisticsdemand, logistics investment and logistics output in three dimensions, in-depth analysisof the relationship between the Chongqing port Logistics and economic growth.Research shows that, there is a long-term stable equilibrium relationship betweenChongqing port logistics and economic growth, that is mechanism of mutual promotionand coordinated development, but the degree of interaction is different; Chongqing’srapid economic growth effectively promotes the increase of port logistics demand, triggering the continued increase of investments in port logistics. The port logisticstakes on overall healthy development momentum. Because Chongqing port Logistics is still in the primary stage of development, the degree of modernization of the portlogistics network and information technology is not high, the port logistics investmentneeds to be strengthened. It leads the service quality and efficiency of port logistics isstill relatively low, the cost is high and the information feedback is not timely. Thus, theeffect that the development of port logistics promotes the economic growth is notsignificant. We should seek further integration and the optimization of the port logisticsindustry.
