The Research Into Influence Factors Of China’s Vegetable Export Trade

Since the implementation of "shopping basket program", China’s vegetable industry has made great strides in development, but also faces a series of problems. Vegetables exports often encounter the impact of technical barriers to trade in our major export markets, severely restricting the process of the exploring of international market. Meanwhile, in order to improve the quality of vegetables, China’s relevant government departments also formulate a series of standards, laws and regulations to strengthen the management of vegetables production, processing, importing and exporting. Therefore, this paper takes the influence factors of China’s vegetable export trade as the main clue, and use the gravity model to discuss the influence of bilateral technical trade measures on vegetable export trade.First to deduce and expand the standard gravity model of trade,and add the variables such as GDP per capital,geographical distance,tariff level,relative price,the TBT-SPS notification quantity,the number of standards and regulations into gravity model.The empirical results show that the significance level,function direction and degree of the variables are not same.Among them,the increase of GDP per capital of import countries has promoted the export of vegetables in our country; geographical distance has significant inhibitory effect; the formulation of standards and regulations, and the TBT-SPS notification in our domestic country promote the vegetable export significantly;the formulation of standards and regulations in importing countries hinders China’s vegetable export.But some variables are not in line with expectations:tariff level and relative price have no effect on China’s vegetables export trade; the TBT-SPS notifications of import countries have no influence on China’s vegetable export. In the end, this paper proposes some advice:upgrading the quality of products,actively dealing with the impact of TBT-SPS from import countries realizing the upgrading of the industrial structure and the diversity of export products;actively developing the international market to achieve the diversity of export market;strengthening the formulation of the legal laws, regulations and standards and regulating the production environment.
