The21st century is the era of informatization and all walks of life in China undergo informatization. as the basic industry in national economy, agriculture will also realize informatization. The development of communication technology greatly changed the mode of development and reform in agriculture. It ensures the economic booming in rural areas. The development of communication market in rural area has a huge impact on the interaction between agricultural product market and agricultural production. In a era of rapid informatization, information becomes the secret weapon to win the economic war and in turn to improve the living standard of villegers. To accelerate the process of eliminating poverty, and to promote the balanced and hamonious development of the mankind, it’s of great importance to develop agricultural informatization and communication in rural areas.This paper first introduces the current situation of agiculture communication in developed countries. Then it analyzed the advatages of communication products and services in constructing the new countryside. Based on data analysis, current situation and features of communication in rural areas are analyzed from the angel of supply and demand. Problems facing the development of communication in countryside are raised. Finally, suggestions are put forward according the the existing problems.Currently, the characteristics of communicaiton market in rural areas include the dispersion of settlements, closed circle of life, unbalanced development, huge difference between eastern and western regions, different comsumption habits, the decrease in number of fixed phone. Existing problems include incomplete mechannism, inadequte infrastructure, marketing problems of operater, capital problem such as inadequate investment.Finally, suggestions are put forward. Measures should be taken by government departments. Hardware and software environment should be improved. The level and quality of marketing should be enhanced among operaters. Human resource and capital management should be strenghened. Communication market environment should be improved. The quality of communication product and service in countryside should be enhanced. The application and promotion of communication products and services in rural areas in china should be strengthened.
