Since the beginning of the1980s, China’s economy is more and more obvious imbalance in the different geographical area, the gap is widening between regions. Spatial Economics believes that the formation of the scale of demand plays an important role in the spatial concentration of the industries. In addition, the accessibility of all regional markets also affects the industrial concentration trends. Both of them constitute the Space Efficiency (SE). The greater SE in a region, the greater its gathering force, and the development of related industries will also be greater. This article estimate the related data firstly, and found that the gathering of the secondary industry in the eastern part make great contribution to China’s regional development gap. Then, the author departure from the spatial econometric model, analyze the reasons for the eastern region of industrial clustering and agglomeration process, illustrating the Space Efficiency’s positive effects on the industrial space agglomeration.By building the demand matrix of different industries in different regions through the Input-output Table between Chinese Regions, the author analysis related data through the trade gravity model established in this article. Then we have SE data of8manufacturing industries in Chinese different areas. The constitution of the eastern part’s SE illustrate that the eastern have been a region which is relative closed, have perfect network of supporting industries, have perfect transport and infrastructure, while central and western regions are isolated from outside. The lower SE of the Midwest proves the lower Market Size Effect in the Midwest. China’s main demand market is basically concentrated in the eastern and central regions, coupled with the central and western regions of transport facilities is not perfect, resulting in higher transaction costs, so that the price index effect is not obvious, under the double impact of these two factors SE of the central and western regions provinces came after the eastern provinces. From the Sub-industry perspective, the more knowledge-intensive industry, the higher SE it has. In addition, the three regions of space-efficient industry showed a strong isomorphism, illustrating that regional division of labor is very obvious. The above conclusions have some inspiration for the central and western regions of the development of the manufacturing industry. In the context of the market economy integration, the central and western regions to optimize the transport network facilities, breaking the self-enclosed to eliminate barriers to trade, strengthen regional economic ties with the formation of a unified national market, actively introduce private capital, better able to promote the interregional coordinated development.
