As we all know, corporate culture can motive a company that the development ofcorporate culture can help a company win in the fierce market competition. The significantimpact of corporate culture on enterprise management has become a broad consensus aroundthe world, which has been proved by many corporate practices that corporate culture is thekey to the success of a company. Adapting to the development of the corporate culture willpromote the development of the enterprise. Otherwise, the company won’t have a greatimprovement.With the rapid development of Chinese economy, the scale of express industry developedat an average annual rate of30%.As a result, the private express delivery and internationalgiant’s market share increased year by year, with a decline of postal express enterprise’smarket share that the post express business is now suffering from severe situation. Therefore,China Post launched a revolution to cut the competitive logistics business EMS from thecompany’s main business and make EMS start as an independent economic individual toparticipate in market competition in order to obtain sustainable competitive advantage.In theprocess of transformation and upgrading, EMS are facing a series of fiscal managerialchallenges, of which is the cultural conflicts.This paper firstly introduces the developmentstatus of Guangdong EMS and cultural evolution, analyzing the cultural conflicts derivedform Guangdong EMS transformation and upgrading, and try to clarify the status quo ofcultural enterprise diagnosis using competing values model and the competing valuesframework. The results indicate that Guangdong EMS "home" culture,which highly supportsthe employees and regulates the internal process, actually provides a guarantee for theenterprise operation. However, the aggravation of the market competition, the industrycharacteristics, the stage, the enterprise strategy transformation and other factors are forcingthe Guangdong EMS to reposition the corporate culture based on its own development andchange the original clan culture to market enterprise culture.At the same time, the companyshould pay more attention to the adaptability to external competitive environment through theorganizational innovations and product innovations to gain a growing market share.According to the results of the diagnosis and cultural orientation model, we will find out thebasis of positioning Guangdong EMS corporate culture,putting forward a brand new culturalposition of Guangdong EMS and finally obtain six implications of Guangdong EMSenterprise cultural positioning. The paper will help Guangdong EMS solve the cultural conflicts and get rid of theoperating pressureto gain the competitive advantage as well as provide an alternativemanagement idea. In addition, this paper can provide ideas and references of culturaldevelopment for EMS companies in other provinces to explore an upgrading path for thestate-owned Chinese express enterprises.
