Logistics is the third profit source of the enterprise. Heightening the level of logistics has an important role in improving the capability of profitability and market competitiveness of the enterprise. Warehousing is one of the important aspects of logistics, and through improving the level of warehousing management can heighten the level of logistics significantly. Automated warehouse is an important manifestation of modern logistics, and is the developing trend of warehousing, so it is greatly essential to study the warehousing management of automated warehouse. Through improving warehousing management’s level of automated warehouse, it is able to enhance the overall level of enterprise logistics ultimately.This paper focuses on studying the slotting assignment of automated warehouse of H Company. Through carrying out the slotting optimization it can achieve the purpose of saving the cost of warehousing operations, and then reduce overall storage costs and increase corporate profits ultimately. Specific content is as follows.(1)This paper analyzes the status of slotting assignment in the automated warehouse of H Company, and especially analyzes the existing problems about slotting assignment in the storage area for finished product and parts.(2)This paper considers the slotting assignment of automated warehouse as Multi-Attribute Decision Making, and seeks a suitable method for achieving slotting assignment in the automated warehouse of H Company. The method is Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS).(3)There is a instance of verification existing in this paper, that is applying TOPSIS method to achieving the slotting assignment of storage area for parts in automated warehouse of H Company.(4)After finding the best solution of slotting assignment for storage area for parts, some suggestions will be proposed to promote the smooth implementation of the solution in connection with the actual situation of storage area for parts.
