Changes And Driving Forces Of Livelihood Diversification And Land Use

Since1980s, the livelihood of rural residents has been significantly improved in China and household livelihood issues have been focused by government agencies and researchers.As we all know,human cannot survive and develop without livelihood, which is fundamental for farmer’s survival, and land is the indemnity of farmer’s survival. The nature, society,economy, technology and land constitute a complex and interactive relation of people and land. The way humans have changed the land use is through the reflection of the economic opportunties. Different types of farmers’livelihood activeties affect the land use change in a direct way. Farmers as rural basic social and economic unit, played a decisive role in the behavior of the rural economy. Though there are many researches on human-earth system, study on this system is still relatively small under the farmers’ livelihood perspective.The study, which is helpful to explain what changes in region by getting new cognitions from local scale. New ways to bring new ideas for rural land use study provides a strong theoretical basis.In this article,we joined in The National Natual Science Fund Project,and using the theory framework of the human-earth system and the perspective of household livelihood, the paper studied the livelihood of rural residents in the area of Xundian in Kunming. The purpose is to reveal the discipline of land use,and this is helpful to improve the land use management. Taking16towns of Xundian district for example,we have combined with surveied data from2006to2008. And then on the basic of the land statistical data, analyzes structure and features of land ues in Xundian District, and reveals distributive properties and the transformation law of quantity and quality of land resources on time.This paper is made up of six chapters and is divided into four sections. The first chapter is the first section, which mainly introduces the background and significance of the research, and systematically analyzes the domestic and foreign farmers’ livelihoods diversification and land use change in the driving force of the relevant literature. Clarify the contents of this paper and technical route, and has pointed out that the original ideas of this paper and its shortcomings. The second chapter is the second section, which introduces the comprehensive overview of Xundian Land Status of resources and land use, and dissected the characteristics of the land resources of the region and the use of a lot of research data and distribution patterns,as well as the amount of resources of the township land.Chapter from3to5are the third section and they are the main and core in this paper.And the third chapter systematically analyzed farmers’livelihood diversity,focusing on the analysis of lilvelihood diversification strategy. Chapter4comprehensivlly analyzed the regularity of land use change,focusing on th use of various data models from both quantitative and qualitative analysis, and the embodiment of innovation in this article is the important guiding conclusions. Chapter5deeply dissected land use change in the driving force of the various factors and their role, and revealed the regularity of land use change in both qualitative and quantitative ways, and provide a new basis for the comprehensive utilization of land resources in the future.Finally, chapter6is the last part of this paper, this chapter is the summary and outlook of the full text, summing up three major conclusions and noting the direction and purpose for future research.This paper made qualitative and quantitative analysis by using a variety of data models. And it has a pioneering research on the analysis method to study the road and logical thinking.In the object of the study and research, this paper focuses on the entire areas, so that it has its own unique in the system theory and dialectical materialism. In the analysis of existing problems and summary of regularity, we paid attention to the spacetime and forward-looking, and thus we focused on the analysis of development trends and trajectory. Therefore, this paper also has unique features. However, due to the uncertain land use change and the farmers’livelihood diversification, there are some imperfections in this study. Especially the development of economy in rural area is effected by many uncertained factors. From all this above, we can know that this paper presents the conclusions and innovative ideas remains to be the test of practice.
