| Evident as the aging issue in China is, people from all walks exert more focus onhow to lead a constant and comfortable life for the aged. Currently, our nation lacks ofpensions to support the aged and therefore, social welfare system is facing greatchallenge. Prevailing approaches fail to work and new methods are in urgent demandto tackle the issue. According to the proposal named promoting the enterprise for theaged, many countries once adept reverse mortgage to settle this problem. In addition,the supervision committee of banking system claims that research on reversemortgage is warranted. Meanwhile, as is stated in the twelfth five-year plan of Beijingin terms of aging issue, government encourages commercial insurance enterprises,commercial banks and other organizations to take a try on this newly rising business.Therefore, it is significant to develop featured mode of reverse mortgage in Chinawith reference to the experience abroad so as to alleviate the aging crisis and ensurethe aged to lead a comfortable life.This essay analyses the definition, basic feature and significance of reversemortgage with reference to foreign experiences in this aspect. Also, this essay presentsthe current condition of this approach, explores its problem and practicality, and offerssuggestions to this mode based on the current condition of China. |
