Research On Cooperation Performance Evaluation Between Qingdao Port And Xi’an Dry Port

In recent years, port industry, taking off rapidly since the reform and opening up,has made remarkable economic benefits. With the increasingly fierce competitionbetween ports, seeking a vast economic hinterland and supply of goods had becomethe highly concerned strategic issues for port operators. Besides, export-orientedeconomic development in inland areas also needs the low-cost and high-efficiencyclearance ports. In the facilitated of these demands and the cooperation of railwaysector, the dry ports development in China had begun to take shape.Taking this as an research view, this paper make a research in the dry portsdevelopment of Qingdao port according to the theory of the supply chain management,the development of dry port and the correlative research of scholars at home andabroad. Firstly, this paper analyses the current cooperation situation between sea portsand inland dry ports in China. Secondly, this paper makes the comparative studyamong Xi’an, Zhengzhou and Lanzhou, which are the dry ports of Qingdao port.Thirdly, this paper takes Zhengzhou and Lanzhou, the two dry ports of Qingdao port,as the benchmark for evaluation and does the comparative study of the cooperationbetween Xian and Qingdao portThe related researches of dry port focus on the concept, location and investmentof dry port, as well as the qualitative macro-analysis of port construction. There isvery little study concerning on the cooperation mode and cooperation performance ofthe dry port and sea port. And most of these are theoretical studies which lack ofempirical study. As a result, this paper does a detail study on the cooperation situationof Qingdao port and its dry ports and tries to establish a more complete cooperationperformance evaluation system of seaport and dry port.This article with theoretical background in supply chain management establishthe cooperation performance evaluation indicator system of Qingdao port and its dryports based on the principles of balanced scorecard. And the evaluation indicators aredivided into four parts: the customer satisfaction indicators, the financial indicators,the partnerships and the non-market indicators. Then, this paper employs the greycorrelation degree to evaluate the cooperation situation of Qingdao port and Xi’an dryport. At last, this paper finds the shortage of the cooperation between Qingdao portand Xi’an dry port combing the development of dry ports at home and abroad. Based on the shortage founded, this paper proposes three pieces of suggestion to improve thecooperation situation: establishing "point to point" operating mode, developingregional linkage and improving the supporting functions. Through the research of thispaper, there are more scientific theory and data support for the better cooperationdevelopment of sea port and dry port and the extending hinterland of sea port.
