Innovation and creativity are the major concerns for the modern companies toestablish compeititivieness in the current era. Therefor, how to improve the innovationand creativity of a team becomes the current hot topic in this field. During theoperation process, the team cognitive ability can lead the direction, and identify theeffective information in the complex environment. In order to exert the advantage ofthe team, it is necessary to combine the knowledge, skills, ideas and worth sense ofeach team member together. In this process, the integration of behavior takes themajor responsibility. It is well known that the individual creativity is influenced by theindividual cognitive ability, but whether the similar trends can be found in a team?In this thesis, we at first provide a comprehensive survey on the existing work ofcognitive science. Then we briefly review the two-dimensional and three-elementmodels for team cognitive. Afterwards, by analyzing current developments of thebehavior integration and team creativity, we demonstrate the importance of behaviorintegration in team operation. Furthermore, we identify the important factors thataffect the creativity of the team. Finally, we propose the model for the cognitive andcreative abilities of the team and our hypotheses are validated by empirical studies ofquestionnaires.The major conclusions are four folds: Firstly, the cognitive ability of the teamhas some influences on its creativity and the three elements of the team cognitiveability can improve its creativity; Secondly, as the core of the operation process of theteam, the integration of the team behavior has a positive influence on the teamcreativity. The higher the degree of behavior integration, the higher the teamcreativity, at the same time, it proves team behavior integration plays an importantrole in coordinating the cognitive ability and creativity of the team; Thirdly, theleaders with the transformational leadership style are more likely to stimulate theintelligence to improve the team creativity, while those with paternalistic leadershipstyle pay attention to increase cognitive support of the team to promote the teamcreativity. Based on our current results, we provide some useful suggestions for theteam manager. In the meanwhile, we also present some future directions for this topic.
