The reason for carrying out the related research on the development of consumercredit and expansion of consumer demand in rural areas. on the one hand, because thecurrent consumption level of rural residents is significantly lower. The consumergoods retail sales in China more than700million rural people to achieve nearly30%of the total retail sales of social consumer goods, per capita consumption level of ruralresidents is equal to only1/3of the urban residents, rural residents’ consumption lagsbehind urban residents at least10years. Therefore, either from the change of China’seconomic development mode to see, or looking to improve rural people’s livelihood,we need to expand the consumption of consumer demand in rural areas. However, toexpand the consumption of rural residents, we need to develop consumer credit.Because the development of consumer credit plays an extremely important role in theexpansion of consumer demand in rural areas. On the other hand, expanding theconsumption demand in rural areas also has a significant impact on the developmentof China’s consumer credit. Due to the level of economic development, the marketsystem, as well as consumer attitudes and many other factors, China’s consumer creditslowly develops, while expanding the consumption of rural residents in China willbring the consumer credit a development of long-term power, and create a neweconomic growth point for the development of China’s financial industry. Therefore,The research on the development of consumer credit and expanding rural consumerdemand has important theoretical and practical significance.From the literature review and theoretical basis, we firstly analyze therelationship between the development consumer credit and expanding ruralconsumption demand. On this basis, we select1994-2010China’rural households PerCapita Consumption Expenditure, China’rural Households Per Capita Net Income,China’rural Consumer Credit, use the three sets of data to set up a model for empiricalanalysis, obtain an conclusion that the development of consumer credit andexpansion of rural consumption demand is positively related. Then, combining withthe actual situation of China’s rural, we analysis deeply the development of consumercredit how to expand rural consumption demand, it improves the income of ruralresidents; it improves rural residents’propensity to consume; it ameliorates ruralresidents’ consumption structure; it changes the consumption expection of ruralresidents. Followed by, we explored that expanding rural consumption demand has many affects on the development of consumer credit, it is a long-term driving forcefor the development of consumer credit; it also is the nature of the purpose of thedevelopment of consumer credit; it improves the social environment of consumercredit. Finally, we put forward some suggestions on how to better develop the ruralconsumer credit, expand rural consumer demand。The innovation of this paper is that we systematicly study and construct theanalytical framework for the development of consumer credit and rural consumerdemand.
