Since the high-speed development of regional economy, the transportation infrastructure of highway and railway has been increasingly saturated. In the recent years, inland waterway infrastructure has drawn public attention. A variety of favorable policies have been introduced. As a result, the Liuzhou West River Company has established in response to the proper time and conditions. Being as the new-emerging force of Liuzhou inland harbor, wharf, water carriage, business logistics, industrial pack and other related industrial investment and management, the company is confronting with unprecedented opportunity, but also facing a series of challenges. From the perspective of scientific development, the article discusses and illustrates the internal conditions, external environment, industry structure, and competitive strategy options of CL logistics port of Liuzhou West River Company.Stating from internal environment analysis, the paper makes research on three aspects:(1)Guangxi West River Investment Group which is the shareholder of the Liuzhou West River Company;(2) the core business of CL logistics port;(3) business-supporting Liuzhou Motor City. To explore the competitive advantage of logistics port, the study combines with the analysis of internal factors, such as internal organization, human resources and financial analysis. In addition, the article points out the opportunities and challenges on the way of logistics port development through analyzing the macroeconomic environment, the demand of future market and industry competitive position of CL logistics port. Base on the studies mentioned above, it provides SO, ST, WO, WT and other orientation of strategic options through analyzing the SWOT framework. According to those strategic principles, the CL logistics port has been defined as an integrated logistics port, which should choose the differentiation competitive strategy. Finally, the essay formulates strategic measures suiting the actual situation of CL logistics port, including the creation of core competence, the construction of talent team. Inland navigation development in our country, especially the development of the shipping resources of West River Basin, is a relatively new and realistic problem. The paper figures out that how to achieve the rational development and utilization of water resources in underdeveloped inland district such as Guangxi province, and how to make the state-owned investment corporation to get the competitive advantage in public interest projects, which are worth to be discussed and explored in nowadays.
