The Empirical Analysis On The Consumption Structure Of Rural Residents In Shandong Province

Since entering new century, the economic development of Shandong province is good,the rural resident’s income level and consumption scale expands unceasingly. Under thebackground, research the consumption structure has a big significant to improve the ruralresidents’ living quality and adjust industry’s structure. The paper analyzed theconsumption structure of rural residents in Shandong province from2001to2011.In order to understand the change of rural residents’ consumption structure deeply.First, do a vertical analysis of rural residents’ Consumer spending in Shandong province.Second, do a cluster analysis of rural residents’ consumption data, discussed thecharacteristics of rural residents’ consumption structure in different stages. Third,compared with the countrywide rural residents’ Engel coefficient, the paper analyzed theevolution trend of rural residents’ Engel coefficient in Shandong province. Fourth, thepaper established regression models with the help of ELES model, analyzed the basicneeds of rural residents, the consumption tendency, the characteristics of the demand ofprice elasticity and income compensation in Shandong province. Finally, in order toimprove the consumption structure of rural residents in Shandong province, according tothe model results and the actual situation of Shandong province the paper proposed thepolicy suggestions to improve rural residents’ consumption structure in Shandongprovince.
