With China’s rapid economic development in Xinjiang, the continuous improvement ofthe degree of opening up, Xinjiang’s trade and economic cooperation with neighboringcountries has increasingly strengthened. The central government proposed to enhanceXinjiang’s opening up degree from the strategic level, strive to build Xinjiang as thebridgehead of China’s opening up to the west, make a new pattern of all-round opening up topromote the formation of our country land and sea open up situation.Kazakhstan as China’s neighbors, the relationship between the two regions is close. Interms of the economic geographic advantage and human environment, Kazakhstan hasbecome the largest trading partner of Xinjiang. In this context, research on the Xinjiang’sindustry comparative advantage against Kazakhstan has important practical significance. It isbenefit to grasp the bilateral trade development trend of Xinjiang and Kazakhstan, and topromote economic cooperation between Xinjiang and Kazakhstan.In order to study the comparative advantage of China’s Xinjiang and Kazakhstan in thefield of thrice industrial, this article from the level of economic development, industrialstructure, employment structure and comparative advantage theory, according to China’sXinjiang and Kazakhstan bilateral trade data, use industrial structure similarity index, tradeindex and labor costs per unit of output to find out the competitive industries of Xinjiangagainst Kazakhstan to expand exports. The paper is divided into six parts. The first chapter,Introduction, introduces the background, the meaning and purpose of research, and researchgoals, content and technology roadmap, and summarizes the research status. Chapter II is thecomparison in resource endowments of China’s Xinjiang and Kazakhstan, including naturalresources, cultural conditions and geopolitical advantages compare. Chapter III iscomparative analysis the level of economic development in China’s Xinjiang and Kazakhstan.Through the analysis of the total GDP of China’s Xinjiang and Kazakhstan, the level of percapita gross national income, industrial structure, employment structure, urbanization leveland industrialization level, to make a judgment about the level of economic development ofXinjiang and Kazakhstan. Chapter IV is the analysis of trade and economic cooperation inChina’s Xinjiang and Kazakhstan. According to the analysis of the foreign trade situation andbilateral trade status quo of China’s Xinjiang and Kazakhstan, put forward the problems whichexist in the economic and trade cooperation to lay the foundation for further the industry comparative advantage analysis. Chapter V is the key part of this article-the comparativeadvantage analysis against Xinjiang and Kazakhstan. This part use industrial structuresimilarity index, trade index and labor costs per unit of output to analysis industrycomparative advantage against Xinjiang and Kazakhstan. Chapter VI is conclusions andCountermeasures. By the analysis of five chapter above, it sums up Xinjiang’s competitiveindustries against Kazakhstan and proposes related policies and recommendations to promoteChina’s Xinjiang and Kazakhstan economic and trade cooperation, thus contributing to theeconomy of China’s Xinjiang by leapfrog development.
