Study Off-day Economic Zone Equipment Manufacturing Export Competitiveness

The equipment manufacture acts as the basement of industrial development and even national economic development in one country. Under the background of economic globalization, what is the fundamental in enhancing the export competitiveness of the equipment manufacture is to improve own competitiveness of industries. It is proclaimed by the modern international trade theory that the industrial cluster acts as the developing mode of the equipment manufacture for its specialties of the long industry chain and the close correlations, and it is also the superiority in international competition. Because of the crucial strategic importance and the good industrial base, Guanzhong-Tianshui (G-T) economic zone has become an important equipment manufacture base in our country. To investigate the prospect and further route of development in G-T economic zone, there’s an important practical significance to study whether it has enough export competitiveness in international market under the present competitive situation of the economic globalization.Based on stating the theoretical basement of export competitiveness and literature review of research actuality at home and abroad, in this thesis the industrial competitiveness of equipment manufacture in G-T economic zone is evaluated by quoting the Michael Porter diamond Model, the export status is analyzed and discussed by chart, which is made according to certain relevant data. Meanwhile, the export competiveness of equipment manufacture in G-T economic zone is also analyzed by some widely used assessment indexes such as revealed comparative advantage index(RCA), trade competitive index(TC), international market share(IMS) and so on. On the base of above analysis, affect factors on equipment manufacture of G-T economic zone are studied in order to get the strategies to accelerate its development.It is shown that among the problems which G-T economic zone confront, the biggest one is called "Good Making, Bad Selling". Several practical solutions are proposed to strengthen the export strength of equipment manufacture day by day, such as improving manufacturing capability, taking a broad view on global market, executing the international standard and perfecting the trade environment. In addition, it is found that the industrial cluster has obvious influence on the export competiveness of equipment manufacture in G-T economic zone, which still has a low level on industrial cluster. But in other word, it means that G-T economic zone holds a significant potential in the same time. Eventually, combined with the analysis of the preceding context, all the problems of reality, as well as its answers and suggestions, on the development of G-T economic zone are presented in the end of this thesis.
