Tourism Etiquette plays an important role in improving the servicequality of tourism industry. It’s propitious to personal image, tourism enterprise imageand even national image. The research of tourism etiquette is less relevantly. Only a fewarticles are published each year. The existing research focuses on the role of tourismetiquette and the tourist etiquette curriculum reforming. It’s lack of tourist etiquettecourse orientation which caused the existing of research generally and roughly. Basedon the perspective of course orientation, this thesis analyzes the essential attribution ofthe tourism etiquette course and determinations the orientation of the curriculum theorywhich is dominated by the "Competence-Based" educational theory and"Quality-Standard" educational theory. We can use the theory to guide the reform ofteaching methods.This thesis is divided into eight chapters, the main contents of each chapter are:The first chapter elaborates the background and significance of research. It alsoexplains the concept of the "course" and "teaching methods". At the same time, itsummarizes the study of tourism etiquette course at home and abroad.The second chapter introduces the basic concept of "etiquette" and thedevelopment of higher vocational education. It elaborates the characteristics, pointingout that Higher Vocational Tourism Etiquette curriculum development, and analyzes theHigher Vocational Tourism Etiquette Course in colleges.The third chapter of this dissertation elaborates the concept and characteristics of"Competence-Based" educational theory and "Quality-Standard" education theory, andalso compares the differences between the two theories.The fourth chapter elaborates the research on tourist etiquette course situation and teaching methods in Sichuan Higher Vocational Colleges. It also analyzes the surveydata.The fifth chapter points out the tourism etiquette in some college that is short ofcurriculum orientation or positioning vaguely. The orientation problem is because oflacking effective teaching methods.The sixth chapter is based on the theory, which according to schools, studentsand tourism enterprises and the IPA, determining a more precise positioning forcurriculum theory.The seventh chapter defines the orientation of the curriculum theory that isdominated by the "Competence-Based" educational theory and assistant"Quality-Standard" education theory. It also proposes the theory of curriculum forspecific proposals, especially the improvement of teaching method and TourismEtiquette Course.The eighth chapter summarizes the whole thesis and explains the innovation of theresearch, besides. At last, it also puts forward the deficiency for this study andsuggestions for later research.
