The vigorous development of the real estate market has made the industrybecome a pillar of China’s economic growth and national economy. Real estate projectdevelopment cycle is long, faces risk, and especially is challenging in project schedulemanagement, and extended project development has become a common phenomenon.The overdue project does not only affect directly the timely delivery of the project,but also has a strong effect on its cost and quality. Meanwhile late delivery does notonly cause the issue of compensation for breach of contract, but results in adversesocial impact too. Therefore, it is necessary and urgent to do research on schedulemanagement of real estate projects.As a leader in the real estate industry. Vanke’s projects scatter about more than40cities across China, many types of products, the level of project management at theadvanced level of the industry, has universal significance of the study. Therefore, thispaper studies Vanke Qinhuangdao holiday landscape project, and applies projectschedule management theory in the systematic study of the progress of the projectmanagement.Based on reviewing the present status of research at home and abroad, this papertakes a combination of theoretical and empirical, as well as a combination ofqualitative and quantitative methods to investigate the real estate project schedulemanagement. Firstly, this paper gives a comprehensive overview about projectschedule management theory, laying the theoretical foundation for the study. Then theanalysis of the factors affecting Vanke Holiday project schedule is specially discussed,on this basis, from the work breakdown structure, the allocation of responsibilities tothe preparation of the schedule matrix, the four aspects of the formulation of thedevelopment and optimization of the schedule are studied systematically. Finally thecontrol process of the project schedule are analyzed,considering problems in theproject underway and the interaction of mutually consistent relationship amongquality, schedule and cost, specific recommendations on methods are proposed onVanke Qinhuangdao holiday landscape project progress control.
