International Competitiveness Of The Equipment Manufacturing Industry In Shanxi Province

Equipment manufacturing industry is specifically for the production of instruments to other productive sectors, and it is the essential factor of the manufacturing industry, also the driving force behind the development of the national economy. Its industrial competitiveness has a direct impact on the international competitiveness and national security of a country or region. Due to the strategic importance of the equipment manufacturing industry, China issued strategic planning to adjust and revitalize the equipment manufacturing industry twice in2006and2009. The manufacturing industry is an important industry and the engine of economic growth in China. It created34.35percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) in2006, accounting for79.53%of the entire industrial value, added contribution of94.54%of the total exports, nearly1/3of revenue for the government receipts. China’s manufacturing industry continues to develop; the impact extends to almost every corner of the world. China’s status of big manufacturing country is irreplaceable.Shaanxi Province once was an important base for the development of China’s equipment manufacturing industry, had made many achievements and was in a leading position among the country. However, after the reform and opening-up policy, the development of the equipment manufacturing industry in Shaanxi province began to slow down and gradually ranked lower comparing to other provinces and cities. To develop equipment manufacturing industry, Shaanxi Province drafted development strategy of the equipment manufacturing industry. Only ensure the continuous development of the equipment manufacturing industry, Shaanxi could achieve structural optimization and rapid development. In order to develop the equipment manufacturing industry, we must firstly understand its strengths and weaknesses, and recognize its competitiveness in the domestic and international, in that way to provide reference and basis. Consequently, analyzing the international competitiveness of the equipment manufacturing industry in Shaanxi Province is very important and urgent.In this paper, we make the international competitiveness of the equipment manufacturing industry in Shaanxi Province as the main line. First of all, we would define the equipment manufacturing industry, clearly objects this study. The article also sort out the theory of the international competitiveness of industry, lay the theoretical foundation for the full text of the study, also sort and classify the existing research to evaluate them, and finally put forward my point of view. Second, introduce the status of the equipment manufacturing industry in Shaanxi Province from several aspects. Then build the analytical framework and method to analyze the equipment manufacturing industry in Shaanxi Province, we will use the NX index and the RCA index to measure the international competitiveness of the equipment manufacturing industry in Shaanxi Province, to draw its international competitiveness, and then use the Six factors in SWOT analysis to analyze the factors that affect the international competitiveness of Shaanxi Province equipment manufacturing, understand the advantages and disadvantages in the internal and external environment. Finally, provide a good reference and basis for vigorous development of the equipment manufacturing industry in Shaanxi Province according to the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions we discussed.
