Research On Competitiveness Of Equipment Manufacturing Industry In Shaanxi Province

Equipment manufacturing industry is considered to provide production technology and equipment industry for the national economy. With the equipment manufacturing industry is established as the strategic industry in our country, it has gradually received the general attentiom by the academy, and become a new hotspot of the research. As an important part of the equipment manufacturing industry research, the competence of regional equipment manufacturing has also attracted many scholars.This investigation is focused on competitiveness of equipment manufacturing industry in Shaanxi province by both qualitative and quantitative analysis. For qualitative analysis part, the professor porter’s "International diamond model" was used to analyze the following six aspects, including element condition, demand condition, related support industries, organization structure, government policy and opportunities, and obtained the competitiveness level of equipment manufacturing industry in Shaanxi province. For quantitative analysis part, principal component analysis was used by SPSS Software to analyze three original indexes:the total industrial output value, the prime operating revenue and total profit, which are the main influencing factors of equipment manufacturing industry competitiveness in Shaanxi province. The results show that the more competitive manufacturing industries in Shaanxi province are general equipment manufacturing, instrumentation and office machinery manufacturing. In general, the overall competitive ability of the equipment manufacturing industry in Shaanxi province is relatively behind in the national ranking.The study considers that, in order to promote the competitiveness level of the equipment manufacturing industry in Shaanxi province, fair competition, resource integration, innovation, grouping talents and strengthen industrial cluster should be followed. Also, some effective and specific measures, including deepen system reform, pooling resources advantage, strengthen independent research ability and service ability of industries, perfecting the salary system and government functions should be proposed. We hope Shaanxi province becomes a strong industrial province as soon as possible by rapid development of equipment manufacturing industries, thereby driving economy of Shaanxi province accelerated development.
