International Competitiveness Study On The Security Inspection Equipment Industry Of China

Along with the acceleration of global economic integration, in order to ensure publicsafety, cope with the challenges of terrorism, countries around the world haveincreased the investment in the field of public security and this has lead a rapiddevelopment of the security inspection equipment industry. After20years ofdevelopment, the security inspection equipment industry in our country has formed acertain scale. The industry’s leading enterprise has occupied a position in theglobal security inspection equipment marketing competition. But forthe development level of the whole industry, there is still distance compare with theworld advanced level, the product and technical level is generally low, lack ofinnovation ability and the overall international competitiveness of the industry is stillneed to be improved. In this paper, the question of the international competitivenessof China’s security equipment industry has been brought up on the basis of theliterature review. In the course of the study, it firstly summarized and reviewed thecurrent situation of the development of the industry and the problems encountered,and then analyzed the main competitors in the international market of this industryand the competitive situation; choose the PEST external macro environment analysismodel and the industry competitive analysis model (Potter diamond model) to studyon the macro international competition environment and the factors which influencethe international competitiveness of the security inspection equipment industry ofChina. Then based on study results, calculated the development trend of the industry,proposed the solutions to the problems in its development and the strategy of how toenhance its international competitiveness. In the end, it summarized the views andconclusions of this paper. The results of this study have a guiding significanceon improving the overall international competitiveness of the industry and couldhelp to promote the domestic security inspection equipment industry to achievea healthy, long-term and sustainable development.
