Informationization is the inevitable choice for modern enterprise in facing competition, improving labor productivity and achieving efficient management. ERP/PDM as a daily operation tool of enterprise informationization management has been introduced for many years in our country. TEDRI, as a major R&D and production base in electric drive and automation manufacturing area in China, based on the industry with its own reality, through elaborating detailed ERP/PDM operating plan and putting into practice, the company has initially realized the integration of the existing enterprise management system and informationization system. Through executing the ERP/PDM project, TEDRI has effectively sorted out the company’s basic data and information, to enable transmission and transfer of information to be more standardized and accurate, and the enterprise management to be more transparent; at the same time, the implementation of ERP/PDM project also has improved the degree of company data sharing and standardized the original workflow, to enable coordination capabilities between various departments to be improved dramatically and the errors caused by human in the work to be reduced to achieve a real-time tracking in order status, make the company decision-making, management and execution are more accurate.Also be noted that, due to some factors such as inaccurate information system plans, indeterminate demands, imperfect institutions, inadequate investment in hard-wares and soft-wares, frequent high-level changes, lack of professional and technical teams and lack of standardization efforts, led to TEDRI’s ERP/PDM system and the actual demands have been still not fully integrated.Therefore, the TEDRI must be clear system positioning and expectant targets in the subsequent process of ERP/PDM system; make effective implementation strategies; pay attention to the implementation of team formation including product designers, business leaders and partners; strengthen synergy between various departments; obtain the enterprise decision-makers’ great attention and full support to integrate the implementation of PDM/ERP system with enterprise restructuring and reform; pay attention to the standardization of product data and the normalization of the flow; ensure continued investment in capital and personnel; strengthen staff training education. Through the above methods to enable PDM/ERP system and management needs of the company tend to deep integration, and to maximize the value of the enterprise information platform, make company management system to reach the domestic advanced level, effectively enhance the productivity and enterprise production and operational efficiency.
