IntroductionThis study investigated the performance which is the expectations given by thecorporate staff, and the effective output of the organization to achieve the target. Workperformance has been a hot topic of current research, and which factors affect workperformance, has been one of the main direction of research scholars. This paper wasbased on Herzberg’s Motivator-Hygiene Theory, and combined with the individual’ssubjective factors, which were selected the representative variables. The studyexamined the variables of the impact of the selected variables for work performance, and their interactions for performance.MethodsThe data for this study were obtained from the salary system as representative variableas hygiene factor and task difficulty as representative variable, motivator factor, combination of factors to the expectation level, using experimental design to explorethe impact of the three kinds of work performances.120students were selected fromthe universities in Harbin as the participants by convenient cluster sampling. Theexperiment included three variables; the first one was salary system, which wasdivided into two levels of the piecework system and a fixed wage system for betweenfactors. The second one was task difficult, which was divided into more difficult taskand the relatively simple task of two horizontal as within-subject factors. The last onewas expectation, which was divided into two levels of high expectations and lowexpectations for the within-subject factors. The dependent variable was workperformance, defined it by the number of subjects completed the experiment decodingtasks as the operational definition. Results&ConclusionsThe findings of this study were as follows:(1) The Salary system has a significant impact on job performance, the result ofindividual work performance scores on fixed wage system performance results significantly better than the piecework system.(2) The task difficulty has a significant impact on job performance, the relativelysimple task of individual job performance scores significantly superior to the moredifficult task under individual job performance scores.(3) There was no significant impact under different expectations of the level ofindividual job performance scores.(4) There was interaction between salary system and task difficult on workperformance.(5) There was interaction between salary system and expectation on workperformance.(6) There was interaction between task difficult and expectation on work performance.(7) There was no interaction between salary system with task difficult and expectationimpact the work performance at the same time.
