As the global economy development, effective management of human resources hasbecome an important way to gain lasting competitive advantage for a modern enterprise.Performance appraisal, as an important part in modern human resource management, is paidmore and more attention than the enterprise’s strategic goals, and employees. All of them arelinked closely. Almost all companies will build their own performance appraisal system, butin the concrete implementation process, performance appraisal is a double-edged sword, notonly as a ruler, to measure the validity of the staff working, motivate working positive, butalso as a rope, to constrain the employees. So performance appraisal is considered to be thehardest thing to do in human resources management. Setting up a performance evaluationsystem accordance with the actual situation of enterprise is also one of the most urgent workin companies.TR company is a kind of technical enterprise, with high-qualified and professionalknowledge staff. With the continuous development of market economy, the customer’spersonalized demand is higher and higher, which put forward higher requirements to theenterprise internal operation efficiency. At the same time, the operation in the technicalenterprise mostly take the team-working mechanism. The project manager controls the projectoperation and the working process of the participants and the result. They have a deeperunderstanding than the head of department or the company. This working mechanism has apractical significance to raise the core competencies of the company, and set up a long-termcompetitive advantage in enterprise.This article first elaborated the significance and main content for this topic, and analyzedthe concept, purpose and function of performance appraisal. Based on the character oftechnical person and work, carefully analyzed the performance appraisal status and existingproblems in TR Company. Combined with the modern theory of performance appraisal, putforward KPI performance appraisal system improvement measures. Combining with theperformance appraisal of technical person, company and project team, it worked out theweight and cycle of performance appraisal. They are the basis for development of the TRcompany and technical personnel’s performance improvement and growth.
