Index System And Application Of The Evaluation Of Land Use Sustainability Of Shanghai From The Perspective Of Ecological Civilization

Located at the area of Changjiang Delta, Shanghai is the biggest city and the economical center in China. With the area less than6400square kilometer and the inhabitant more than23million, the population density of Shanghai is nearly3600people per square kilometer, which makes Shanghai the most crowed city in China and brings some pressures. As the development of Ecological Civilization Construction, it will be the primary problem of Shanghai to support more population and social and economical development on the limited land.Sustainable land use is the way to realize the sustainable development of human being, the other way round the theory of sustainable development and Ecological Civilization are the foundation of evaluation of land use sustainability. First of all, this paper will introduce the concept of sustainable development and Ecological Civilization. Secondly, the frame of land use system and the connotation of sustainable land use will be expounded. Thirdly, this paper analyses the changes of land use in Shanghai. And then an evaluation system will be built to value the land use sustainability of Shanghai and try to calculate the situation of land use sustainability of Shanghai in the past years. What’s more, the obstructions will be found and valued to improve the land use sustainability of Shanghai.This paper builds up an evaluation system of land use sustainability of Shanghai, including five criterions which are Economic Effective, Resource Conservation, Environment Protection, Society Harmony and Coordination, and11indexes and32Primary Indexes. Also, diagnoses the obstacles. Through this study, the land use sustainability of Shanghai was increasing in the past ten years. And the main driving forces are economic efficiency of land use and conservation of resources. But the environment risk and society injustice are getting worse. Besides, it is found that the main obstacles are shown in environment conservation, society harmony, land resource management and resource pressure. Then, according to the obstacle diagnosis, concrete suggestions are proposed to provide some guidance to sustainable land use of Shanghai.
