The Research On ABC’s Procurement Management Optimization

The industry competition becomes increasingly fierce since the21st century. With the unveiling of National12th five-year plan, initiating of energy saving and emission reduction policy, the implementation of industrial structure adjustment in upstream resources and etc., the operational environment facing the enterprises becomes more intricate and the competition evolves into a more fierce state. Purchasing management, as an important part of supply chain management, is of vital importance to enterprises in establishing and maintaining competitive advantage in new circumstances. Using the related purchasing theory under supply chain environment to study ABC’s existing purchasing system and process, solve the existing problems in ABC’s purchasing management, will help to improve the procurement efficiency of ABC, save the company’s purchasing cost and enhance administrant level in procurement.This paper focuses on the study of the procurement management status quo of an online game company---ABC. First, it introduces the fundamental theory of supply chain management, and also elaborates the purchasing and supplier management under supply chain environment. Then, taking ABC as research sample and aiming at its current dilemma in purchasing, this paper takes ABC’s business peculiarity into account and ameliorates its procurement management in three ways:optimizing inner procurement process, improving supplier selection and evaluation system and establishing strategic business partnership with suppliers.Finally, the paper gives the corresponding suggestion to the implementation and consolidation of ABC’s purchasing optimization program.As an online game company, the problems in ABC’s purchasing management are so typical that the study of its existing problems and the upcoming solutions to these problems will, to some extent, benefit the enterprises of the same kind.
