Since1991, China has established105national high-tech development zones. The high-tech development zones make full use of the advantages of human resources and technology brought by industrial aggregation, to open up new markets abroad, making great contribution to our exports. Therefore, to study how industrial aggregation in China’s national high-tech development zone effects on exportation has certain practical significance.Based on the previous literature, first describes the development, spatial distribution and problems of China’s national high-tech zones. Then from the enterprise, industry clusters and regional level, analyses the mechanism of how industrial aggregation effects on exportation. Based on the theoretical analysis, constructs the index system, using principal component analysis to calculate the level of industrial aggregation in national high-tech zones. Finally by regression analysis, to quantify the correlation of three principal components and exportation. This paper draws the following conclusions:first, through clustering analysis, according to the level of industrial aggregation composite score,54high-tech zones can be divided into5types. The level of China’s national level high-tech zones presents a pyramid model, because more than half of the high-tech zones does not reach the level of the average level, so overall, the level of industrial aggregation in China’s national high-tech zones is still low, against the competitiveness of China’s high-tech zones and expansion of exportation. Second, the research resources such as technology personnel and R&D expenditures, the network scale such as the number of enterprises and industrial output are important factors affecting the level of exportation. Enhancing foreign direct investment, infrastructure construction and technological innovation capability can also promote the exportation of high-tech zones, but the effect is not as big as improving the research resources and network scale. There is no direct impact to exportation. Finally, based on the conclusions of the empirical analysis, from the enterprise level, industry clusters level and regional level, give advice on how to improve the level of industrial aggregation in China’s national high-tech development zones.
