AS the population ages, the process of urbanization and industrialization speeds up, numerous young peasents move into the large city as migrant workers, the traditional family support model is hit hard in the new situation. Support promble of peasents are getting more and more serious and institutionalized system of rural pension insurance needs to be constructed. In September2009, the State Council organizes New Rural Social Pension Insurance (referred to as NRSPI) pilot work including10%of the counties in the whole country and hopes to cover all peasents aged above16during two or three years. Peasents are considered as participants and direct beneficiaries in the system, their enthusiasm greatly influence the coverage and the effectiveness in the implementation of the system. It is practically significant to explore peasents’ behavior to design and perfect the system.Based on the questionnaire and interview in LiXin County, the paper applies many kinds of statistical analysis methods to the146sample data for analysis such as Descriptive Analysis, Crosstab Analysis, Correlation Analysis and so on. Building Logistic Regression Model, the paper empirically tests influencing factors on the behavior of the peasents’participation in NRSPI from the two dimensions of "insurance will" and "insurance level".Firstly, design the questionnaire and select LiXin County as the sample to know well peasents’participation situation in NRSPI. Questionnaire is mainly divided into four parts:Personal and family basic information; consciousness and policy cognition; actual participation situation; open questions.Secondly, insurance behavior is measured from the two dimensions of "insurance will" and "insurance level". Set Model1and Model2respectively to test influencing factors on the behavior of the peasents’participation in NRSPI.Modell:Explained variable Y1is used as "insurance will" in Model1-Binary Logistic Regression Model and the result shows that significant influence factors include age, occupation and children count.Model2:Explained variable Y2is used as "insurance level" in Model2-Multiple Logistic Regression Model. Analysis finds that only children count and understanding degree significantly influence "insurance level".Finally, combined with the interview on peasents, it is concluded that not only the internal factors of the significantly influence peasents’insurance behavior and external factors of system design can also explain peasents’ insurance behavior in a way. Have a further discussion on the conclusion and put forward the corresponding measures to expand coverage and improve the level.
