After30years of reform and development, economics and society of Tibet has made considerable progress under the strong support of Chinese government. But the economic development of Tibet is still relatively backward. The12th Five-Year development plan of the mining industry in Tibet emphasis that advantageous resources should transform as soon as possible, nurturing and developing strategic industry, and to enhance a production growth of the first, second and third industries, achieving sustainable economic and social development." In conjunction with this plan, the Tibet regional efforts to cultivate strong mineral resources industry, as a new economic growth point, in order to enhance their own development capacity. But, environmental constraints and regional culture remains a challenge placed in front of the economic development of Tibet mining economic development. How to achieve the economic development in the mining industry, and at the same time to better protect the environment, to coordinate the interests of local farmers and herdsmen in Tibet’s economic and social sustainable development is an important issue that we need to carefully consider.In this context, this paper combine with the objective reality of current Tibet mineral development, and relying on resource economics and sustainable development theory to study the development of mineral resources in Tibet. This paper analyzes current situation and existing problems, proposes some related issues. This article expounded the harmonious development of mining economy of Tibet, using theoretical and empirical method. The paper studies the development of mineral resources in Tibet is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is to explain the reasons for thesis topics, as well as the existence of innovation and inadequate. The second chapter states the resource economics and sustainable development theory combing certain generalization of the current development of domestic and international resource economics and sustainable development theory. The third chapter focuses on analyzes of the correlation of mineral resources development and economic and social development of Tibet. The fourth chapter analyzes the status and benefits of the mineral resources in Tibet. The fifth chapter states the problems that exist in the current development of mineral resources. The sixth chapter is to put forward some suggestions on the current problem.
