Studies On Assessment And Optimizing Of Investment Environment Based On Multivariate Statistics Method

With the accelerated process of economic globalization, the whereabouts of international capital emerges new trends and characteristics. As the external conditions to attract foreign investment, regional investment environment will have profound impacts on the investors. Therefore, to take a scientific, systematic evaluation on regional investment environment is a important reference for investors to make right decisions. And it can also provide important evidence for improving the investment environment itself.Since the reform and opening up, Chinese utilization of foreign investment is increasing. But the using scale is extremely unbalanced among different areas because of Chinese specific national conditions and policies. The resources are mainly concentrated in the eastern coast areas while the actual use of foreign investment for the central and western regions is very limited. And then, Chinese government put forward the strategy of "Rise of Central China" in order to change the central areas’lagging situation. As one of the major provinces in central China, Anhui province also needs a scientific, objective and comprehensive evaluating system for the investment environment. By this way, It can be able to ameliorate the condition and obtain more foreign investment to improve economic efficiency.This dissertation begins with reviewing of relative studies on investment environment in the world, including the definition, classification, form factors, the theoretical basis as well as basic characteristics. Then it establishes two different regional evaluation systems based on the rules and standards of evaluation system establishment.The one system includes20factors such as the factor of GDP and the factor of average GDP, the other includes13factors.After that, using factor analysis and cluster analysis. It makes horizontal comparative analysis on investment environment in Anhui as well as classifying analysis combined other cities’relative data. The main conclusions are as follows.(1) The ranking of investment environment in Anhui is below in China. But it also has three advantages. First,it’s a important transport hub.And then, it has broad market prospects and high speed of development of High-tech industry. There are still three disadvantages in Anhui. First, development of the tertiary industry is lagging behind and the industrial structure is unreasonable. Second, postal and telecommunications industry in Anhui should be further improved. Last, social services is poor.(2) It can be classified into four types according to the developing stage of investment environment:①Hefei;②Wuhu, Maanshan, Tongling, Huainan, Huaibei;③Bengbu, Suzhou, Fuyang, Bozhou, Lu’an, Chuzhou, Anqing;④Huangshan, Xuancheng, Chizhou. And then, the radar charts for all types clearly reflect the advantages and disadvantages of each class.Based on the above analyses, this dissertation suggests methods and counter measurements on optimizing Anhui general and regional investment environment according to the relative characteristics of investment environment. Finally, it prospects the future research direction of this subject.
