On The Development And Strategy Of Farmer’Professional Cooperatives In Hunan Province

Compared with previous attempts, the construction and development of farmers’ professional cooperatives in Hunan province has achieved a lot in recent years, but overall is still in the initial stage. Survey shows that farmers’professional cooperatives in Hunan province has less number; the systemization degree of agriculture is low; itsscale、quality and benefit do not conform to the development trend of modern agriculture and major agricultural province; gap exists when compared with the general level of the country and other provinces and cities.Closely around the construction of new socialist countryside, modern agriculture and "Four Modernizations (the new industrialization, agricultural modernization, new urbanization, informatization) Two Types (resource conserving, environment-friendly)"in Hunan’s transformation of development patterns, this paper focuses on the development of Hunan farmers’ professional cooperative organizations in recent years using various methods including questionnaire, interviews, the field survey and literature review. The research on Hunan farmers’ professional cooperative organization involves the development characteristic, main achievements, According to the successful experience from Canada, Chinese Taiwan and other countries and regions, pointing out principal utility, built-in problem and reasons to hold back development.the author makes some suggestions and countermeasures for further promoting construction and development of farmers’ professional cooperative organization in Hunan province.
