Our holiday system has experienced such five changes—initiary, increased, integrated, varied and now adjusted. Each kind of change has brought many effects and feedbacks. The essence behind the holiday system and the implementing progress are both becoming the highlights of the publics from social, economic and cultural aspects. Whatever the feedback is, doubtful or unsatisfactory, the initial pursuit is for the extensive share and own of recess right and accordingly, it is certainly good. However, it is difficult to move smoothly on road and get easy access to scenic spots. Consequently, tourism congestion is very serious and this has threw a big challenge toward our holiday arrangement system.Besides, after the policy of free-car-pass, the congestion of highways is a prevalent phenomena during holiday travel although the number of travelers is increasing heavily. There is no doubt that ongestion has become a major complaint and it not only affects the appreciation and enjoyment of beauty in tourism activities, but also aggravates the burden of physical energy. In addition, it may fade the unforgettable tourism memories due to its many bad results, and constitutes a "black scenery" in tourism experience.Based on literature analysis, multivariate statistical analysis and descriptive statistical analysis, questionnaire research and empirical observation, the article firstly clarifies the contents and definition of tourism congestion. Then it analyses the deep causes of tourism congestion from following four directions:holiday and leisure time, tourism resources, management elements, technical elements of scenic spots. It also tries to answer how tourism congestion, especially the scenic spots’ congestion will affect tourism experience. What’s more, taking Dalian Laohutan Ocean park as observation example, it tells and illustrates how the tourism congestion and tourists’ feeling is during Naitonal Day. Above is just a panorama of this article, the detailed structure is as following:The first chapter is introduction. It consists of research origin, qualification, method, value and innovation point. The research originates such a phenomena: some people have experienced the same kind of tourism congestion, but their feeling and enjoyment varied from hateful, unhappy to delightful. Driven by a series of confusions, it commits a research and analysis on tourism congestion taking holiday as time qualification, and round-traffic congestion, scenic spot congestion as space qualification. Combining the methods of literature analysis, multivariate statistical analysis and descriptive statistical analysis, questionnaire research and empirical observation, the article’s highlight is obvious in that it finds a bright way out from the disorganized, unclear and gloomy world of tourism congestion, which may provide some directions help in improving both holiday designing and leisure quality, and to some extent embodies kind of innovation. The second chapter is literature review. It reviews from three aspects:holiday tour, tourism congestion and congestion experience. As to holiday tour, it concludes that researches mainly do well in the harmonious relationship between holidays and tourism, and their logical pattern is as following three:how holidays is improved for the benefit of tourism, how tourism is adjusted for holiday arrangement and how they both are in balance. As to the first change, we can see its contents include recess right and time improvement. The second change includes tourism resources’ management. The third change is that holidays and tourism both compromise and collaborate with each other. Besides, the research about tourism congestion at home is still in chaos, which shows the outcomes mainly in its causes, characteristics, evaluation index and systems of pure traffic jam or tourism spots. Absorbing the essence of many outstanding opinions, this article views tourism experience in the congestion environment from three points:bad mood, calm-keeping and recognition. The third chapter is about what is tourism congestion. It constitutes an organized and systematic category for tourism congestion exploratively, which ranges from definition, kinds, ranks and inconvenient results. The fourth chapter is the deep cause of tourism congestion. It does the analysing from four macro aspects:holiday system, the imbalance between demand and supply in tourism resource, management element and technical element of scenic spots, and sequentially puts forward into micro elements. The fifth chapter is the analysis of tourism experience in the context of congestion, which takes bad experience as focus. Based on proving the preliminary hypothesis using the questionnaire, it arrives in some important conclusions and accordingly, provokes two illusions:create happy experience even in the congestion and solve the congestion problem by exploring various directions. The sixth chapter is empirical observation part taking Laohutan Ocean Park as an example. As a looker-on, and also a tourist, I observe how the congestion is and how tourists enjoy themselves, and take notes simultaneously. The empirical work is for the richness of the previous conclusions. The seventh chapter is conclusion part. It includes all the article’s conclusions from both the questionnaire and empirical observation. It also sees the limitation and gives a blueprint of relevant research in the future. The key cause of tourism congestion should be due to holiday system and policy and tourists just contribute less. Becausethe information they get and know is not often matched with that of macroscopical and real conditions, or the time available for tourism is limited, it is very meaningful to investigate tourism congestion macroscopically. Thus, we can realize high-time-avoiding tourism and meet the publics’ travel and leisure demand.
