In recent years, under the rapid economic growth, Chinese industrial structureand urbanization are constantly adjusting. To adapt to the needs of economicdevelopment, in the process, a lot of agricultural land were occupied by theincreasingconstruction land. Construction land has grown faster than the speed of developmentof the population, and the per capita urban land’s trend is growing. Any economicconstruction must be supported by the corresponding land, especially in the choice ofthe industrial development of infrastructure on land conditions and the establishmentof the industrial base needs to consume a large amount of land resources. For manydeveloped areas, however, in the process of industrial restructuring, the existing landhas been occupied by the existing industry, the shortage of land resources hasincreasingly become an important factor to hinder the adjustment of industrialstructure. At present, the shortage of industrial land has become the primary obstaclerestricting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the YangtzeRiver Delta area. For underdeveloped regions, although the land resources isrelatively abundant, but they are not for good use, resulting in idle and waste, is notconducive to the optimal allocation of resources and the overall upgrading of theindustrial structure, and is not conducive to the sustainable development of theeconomy. How to relieve or resolve these contradictions, and how to coordinateindustrial restructuring contradiction between the growth of demand for land and landresources scarce, is the important issue of the impact of industrial restructuring andupgrading. In this paper, I use the intensive use of land as the main line, to find a newstarting point for the regional industrial structure adjustment. First, I analysis thetheoretical basis for intensive use of land affect the regional industrial structureadjustment government rent premium theory and location theory. And clarify theintensive use of land on the regional industrial structure adjustment mechanism. Thendraw statistical description of the status of land use and industrial restructuring andthe status quo of Jiangsu Province. We find Jiangsu intensive use of land facingchallenges and Jiangsu industrial restructuring defects. On the basis of the previousanalysis, use land intensity as an explanatory variable, representing land intensiveutilization, and use the industrial structure score as dependent variable, representingthe regional industrial restructuring. Then, establishing the panel data from1999to2010of the13regions in Jiangsu Province, get the land intensive use to the regional industrial structure adjustment coefficient. Finally, I summarized the contents andmethods of this research, and at the same time, I gave some suggestions about how toimprove the intensive use of land to promote regional industrial structure adjustment.
