As the basis of guarantee, the comparative quality of relevant print quality management, which includes the digital printing machine and its supporting software, becomes extremely important. However, digital printing projects must be divided into multiple phases for development, according to the complexity of the digital printing machine. Therefore, in order to enhance the project quality; It is necessary to analyze the project quality management status of each issue, summarize the problems found in the present management mode, and propose an improved method as guidance of the next project.Quality management theories and methods were applied to solve the quality problems which encountered in the process-of research and development of the digital printing machine project. The QM of the R&D process in the first phase was narrated. And causal analysis, Pareto diagram and other statistical tools were included in the analysis of the quality problems found in the first phase. Meanwhile, solutions for the quality problems of the first phase were introduced in the second phase of the project. The main work and innovation of this thesis are as follows:(1)Firstly, analysis and summary of the quality problems in the first phase of the R&D process were proposed.The quality problems occurred in each stage of R&D process were analyzed and described. These stages include:mechanical platform development, print control system development, sprinkler module development, supply ink system development, printing prepress software development and printing controller software development.(2)Secondly, quality control measures for the R&D process of the second phase were raised.Many kinds of quality control measures for dealing with the quality problems of the project in the first phase were made. These measures include:organization measures, contract measures and so on.(3)Thirdly, quality improvement implementation in the R&D process of the second phase was brought forward.Based on PDCA, the quality control measures were used for the improvement process of mechanical platform, material procurement, demand analysis, document management and risk management. And risk quantification parameter model for the project was designed to reduce the impact of risk on the project effectively.The quality control measures and process improvement methods were proposed in this thesis. Not only for the enhancement of the quality level of the project and consequence of completion in the second phase of the project. It also provides guidance for quality control and process improvement that the project’s next phase needs.
