With the acceleration of globalization and the rapid development of the science and technology, enterprises are facing more complex and more challenging market and technology environment, thus enterprise’s produce innovation need to be done at a higher level and wider exploration, and requires interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary researchers work together to complete it in the form of multi-team. For high-tech enterprises, the management of R&D capability and efficiency will directly influence its sustainable development. But due to the difference of the research and development team members, making the trust and interdependence among R&D teams particularly important, to deal effectively with trust and interdependence between the research and development team is the key to improve development performance. Effective management of R&D MTS trust and interdependence is the key to improve R&D performance.By literature review on trust, interdependence and process performance, we find that there are abundant studies on trust and interdependence on team-level, but there is a lack of studies on trust and interdependence on multi-team level, especial about the R&D multi-team level. Additionally, although the existing research have tested the relationship between trust and performance, and the relationship between interdependence and performance, there are few studies on the relationship between trust and interdependence, and even the studies integrate these three factors. Therefore, this study tests the relationship among MTS trust, interdependence and process performance, and discusses the mediation role of functional interdependence. Finally, this study reveals the mechanism of how MTS trust promotes functional interdependence and how promotes process performance thereafter. This study takes the high-tech enterprises R&D as the object, used correlation analysis and structural equation model to testify the construct of variables, and then build the model of R&D MTS trust, functional interdependence and process performance. Analyzing the effect of trust on functional interdependence, the effect of functional interdependence on process performance, and on this basis testing the mediation of functional interdependence. The main conclusions of this study as follow:(1)Tested the3-factor structure model of MTS functional interdependence: resources sharing, process collaboration and output link.(2)R&D MTS cognitive trust and emotional trust have significant effect on process performance.(3)R&D MTS cognitive trust and emotional trust have significant effect on functional interdependence including resources sharing, process collaboration and output link.(4)R&D MTS resources sharing of functional interdependence has not significant effect on process performance including functioning and stage-results. And process collaboration and output link of functional interdependence have significant effect on process performance including functioning and stage-results.(5)R&D MTS process collaboration and output link of functional interdependence mediate the relationship between trust and process performance. But resources sharing of functional interdependence only mediate the relationship between trust and stage-results, it does not mediate the relationship between trust and functioning.
