Teachers are the basis of education, In recent years, The rapid development of tourismindustry has given rise to the height of the tourism education prosperity, but at present ourcountry, high vocational college teachers’ professional ability is not so optimistic, which is anobstacle of the rapid development of tourism. Tourism colleges and universities can not cultivatehigh-level, highly capable personnel to meet the needs of the travel industry. Through research,this paper aims to improve the level of high vocational tourism college teachers’ professionalability, promote the teaching quality of higher vocational tourism.Taking the professional ability of highter vocational teachers of tourism as the researchobject, and the theory of teachers specialization, competence-based theory as the guidingideology, this paper analyzes how to develop higher vocational teachers’ professional ability. Theauthor firstly presents the research background, its significance, and the reseaching process werereviewed in detail in order to have a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the field inpare one.Then, on the basis of the theory of teacher professionalism and competence-basedtheory and in combination with the existing literature, I use the survey methods analytichierarchy process to form the construction of higher vocational teachers’ professional capacitystructure system in part three, The paper fuither puts forward that higher vocational teachers’professional capacity ansists of the basic teaching ability, professional practical ability,organization and management skills,These are four first-level indicators; the interpretationability, writing ability, practice ability of travel agency etc are the eight secondary indicators;andthis paper calculates that the basic teaching ability, professional practical ability are two of theimportant elements. To build on the basis of the vocational ability structure of the system, Idesign entitled the questionnaire and interview outline for higher vocational teachers’professional capacity, investigating the present situation of higher vocational teachers’professional capacity, and using the SPSS13.0software, Excel software to make an investigationof the results of this analysis, the result shows that teachers’ basic teaching ability is notoptimistic, their teaching design ability needs to be strengthened, and the practical teachingability as a whole is low, Among which the hotel practice teaching ability is rather low.Then,from teachers, and organization, the student,the paper probies into its internal and externalattribution of the tourism subject, And finally puts forward to establish the tourism vocationaleducation with modern science education idea, enrich the teachers of higher vocational tourismtheir teaching theory knowledge, innovate the high vocational tourism college faculty,build upspecial high vocational tourism college evaluation system and ensure the environmentalstrategies,such as the internal and external security conditions etc,which can improve the highervocational teacher’s professional ability.
