This paper analysis the impact of the construction of high-speed rail for regionaldevelopment under the background of the regional-integrated development in theBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.The main analysis included:(1)the advantages andmechanisms of the high-speed rail;(2)the current situation and problems of thedevelopment of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region;(3)The differences betweenaccessibility patterns with scenarios and with and without high-speed rail wereanalyzed in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.It included the changes of isochronousring,the changes of weighted-travelling time value, the changes of potential valuesabout regional advantages and the changes of hinterland pattern.The first and two chapters describe the background, the significance, the contentand researching methods;it described the researching status which the high-speedimpact on regional development and regional spatial structure, accessibility in thedomestic and foreign region.The third and fourth chapters analyzed the characteristics and advantages of thehigh-speed railway, elaborated the mechanism which high-speed railway impacted onthe regional development and reflected the demands of high-speed rail developmentby analysising the passenger surveies.Briefly describing the current constructionabout high-speed railway in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.It is noted that therailways included the already opened and the building railways.It reflected the spacestructural features in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region by analysising the regionalcharacteristics and various indicators.The Fifth chapter described a series of analytical methods by using spatialanalysis tools of ArcGIS as platform. The differences between accessibility patternswith scenarios and with and without high-speed rail were analyzed in theBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.It included the changes of isochronous ring,the changesof Weighted-travelling time value, the changes of potential values about regionaladvantages and the changes of hinterland pattern. The sixth chapter summarized the whole paper and put forward some feasiblesuggestions based on the conclusions and the characteristics according to regionaldevelopment in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.The results were as follows:The high-speed railway had a great advantagecompared to the other modes of transportation,and could have a positive effect forregional development.Through the analysis of the questionnaire, it reflected that manypassengers had high recognition to take the high-speed rail travel.Beijing is extremelydominated in the regional development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and itsleading role to the surrounding area did not significantly reflected. The differencesbetween accessibility patterns with scenarios and with and without high-speed railwere analyzed, when the high-speed railway opened,the isochronous ring significantlyexpanded outwards, accessibility were enhanced, weighted-travelling time value wereshorten and potential values about regional advantages were increased in the cities ofBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.The hinterland patterns in the cities ofBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei region changed. Beijing’s urban hinterland would expand in thefutureand it indicated that Beijing’s radiation effect to the whole region wouldincrease; Then draw the relevant conclusions and put forward further proposals howto play the role of high-speed rail to accelerate the process of integration in theBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
