Since the21st century, Chinese hotel industry has developed like a mushroom. The international hotels chains looked the Chinese reform as the opportunity to expand and entered the countries’market quickly. Recent years have witnessed the inclination of their growth rate. This drastic increase in the growth of hotels results in shortage of quality man power. As the human resource management was new and not matured enough resulting in exposing of lot of disadvantages. Staff attrition is major concerned with in the hotel industry as it directly affect the standards and business stability of the hotel. The loss of experienced and skilled staff and revelation of companied strategy to the competitive hotels has an adverse effect on hotels’ competitive edge, thereby hampering the royalty of staff and guests towards a hotel brand.This article sorted out and analyzed the literatures which were written by scholars who were at home and aboard related in the hotel employee attrition. Base on the concepts and influencing factors of employee attrition, the writer analyzed particularly on the current employee attrition, influence and reason at JW Marriott hotel Shenzhen. At present, the hotel employee attrition at JW Marriott is far higher than other hotel industry which in the same city, and the highest employee attrition appeared in the frontline staff, In terms of impact on the hotel by employee attrition, this paper analyzed the sustainable development of the hotel personnel, service efficiency and quality, management and market competition cost, hotel reputation and customers’ drain, etc. In terms of the reasons of employee attrition, this paper selected a part of staff that left JW Marriott hotel, have carried on the questionnaire survey. From the survey data analysis of the cause of the hotel employee attrition, and from the hotel itself has carried on the deep analysis to the reasons of the employee attrition. This article is proposed that the way to solve the employee attrition of JW Marriott hotel Shenzhen is insisting on people-oriented management philosophy. The hotel managers should focus on staff attrition and countermeasures being taken by JW Marriott Shenzhen. At the same time, they also should strengthen the cohesion of company culture, increase the fairness of compensation management, focus on the effectiveness of staff career development, attach important to satisfy the staffs sprit and emotion. Through those measures, this hotel can solve the dilemma of understaffed and high employee attrition.
