Evaluation And Analysis Of Spatial-temporal Difference Of Urbanization Quality In Hubei Province

With the rapid development of global industry and economy, the level of the urbanization is improving quickly,the number of the cities and the urban scale is unprecedented expanding,which is leading to some city diseases and hindering the sustainable development of urban social and economy seriously. In order to better planning and controlling the regional social and economic development,and improving the quality of urbanization,we are badly in need of assessment for some conditions in the process of regional urbanization,for example,the transition of urban population,landscape regeneration,economic changes and social development,peoples living conditions, infrastructure,ecological environment situation and the rural-urban development divide,these contents can be reflected by the urbanization quality.The urbanization process in our country started late,but it moved so quickly,due to many places over-focus on the development of urbanization "quantity"for a long time,so they was enjoying rich material civilization which create by rapid urbanisation at the same time,and also derived a series of quality problems of urbanization,which has catched the Chinese scholars’s attention on the quality issues in the process of urbanization.Hubei Province is located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River,the city is in the early development of group formation, urban development has good advantages, but it also faces some disadvantages conditions.Therefore,starting from the connotation of urbanization quality,a comprehensive evaluation of the urbanization quality of hubei province,and analysising spatial variance,exploring strategies to improve the urbanization quality,which may seize the leading position in the rise of central China for Hubei Province,provide a scientific basis for ledding the development of other regions.In this paper,the writer builded a comprehensive evaluation index system from the connotation of the urbanization quality and urbanization theory,combined with the actual situation of urban development in Hubei province,conducted a comprehensive evaluation for2001-2011hubei province’s urbanization quality by the factor analysis,researched the space difference of urbanization quality in2001,2006,2011three periods by the cluster analysis,further analysis the dynamic development on the time and the evolution of spatial pattern of urbanization quality.Finally,this paper discussed the main factors influencing of the space-time differences of urbanization quality in hubei province,and tried to put forward somesuggestions for improving the urbanization quality in hubei province and regional coordinated development.The main research results include the following aspects:(1)The overall level of urbanization quality in Hubei province is low,and there is an obvious phenomenon of’light weight".The overall level of urbanization quality in Hubei province is low,and there is an obvious phenomenon of "light weight". In1978,the urbanization rate of Hubei province was15.09%,quickly promoted to51.83%by2011,but through a comprehensive evaluation for the urbanization quality during2001-2011,we can found that the score of urbanization quality is generally low in nearly a decade(except in wuhan city),which shows that the development of the urbanization level have failed to do the corresponding with the urbanization quality,"light weight" phenomenon is more serious.(2)The regional difference of urbanization quality in Hubei province is larger.We can through the analysis found that the highest urbanization quality in Hubei province is Wuhan,which has been far ahead of other regions,followed by Yichang and Xiangyang city,the three cities constituteed the"Golden Triangle"in urbanization quality of hubei province,this will have a radiation for the development of its surrounding areas. But we also should see that the urbanization quality in some areas is low,such as Suizhou,Xiaogan and Jingzhou,the spatial heterogeneity of urbanization quality is bigger.(3)Difference of economic development is the most important factor in the time and space differences of urbanization quality of Hubei province.We can found that economic indexes have a higher contribution rate to the urbanization quality by the factor analysis,and the cluster analysis also shows that the spatial pattern of the urbanization quality basically agrees well with economic development of Hubei province,indicating that economic development is critical factors to promoting urban construction and development quality of Hubei Province.(4)We should be taking economic development as the center and achieving all-round coordinated development to improving the urbanization quality of Hubei province.Specifically include the following main aspects:development of new industries,promote industrial upgrading,to provide new impetus for urban development;intensify environmental control,to build ecological livable cities;Improve the infrastructure,improve residents’ life quality;Narrow the gap between urban and rural,realize the development of urban-rural integration;cultivate new growth pole,looking for a new model of urban sprawl.
