Research On Developing Sino-Mongolian Cross-Border Economic Cooperation By Ganqimaodu Port

As a special space region, border port is an important hub of inland areas to make export-oriented economy with the adjacent countries. The development of port is becoming the economic growth point of inland, with great potential development.China Ganqimaodu port locates in western Inner Mongolia, as a transportation hub connecting with Mongolia, and closes to the Mongolia’s South Gobi province which is rich in minerals resources.In this paper, the Ganqimaodu port is positioned in China to Mongolia Cooperation by comparison of geopolitical conditions, trade volume and trade structure among four typical Inner Mongolia ports. Then according to the situation analysis of Ganqimaodu port with trade cooperation with Mongolia, the development of industrial park of the port and advantages of the port in sino-Mongolian cross-border economic cooperation, we will identify the challenges and problems of the port development within the perspective of both short and long term about developing sino-Mongolian cross-border economic cooperation. The paper will promote the "Point-Chain-Area" idea combing with the kinds of advantages, situation and issues above. Using the development of port economy to build the cross-border cooperation with Mongolia, the cross-border cooperation could solve the problems the Ganqimaodu port met, and it will promote sustainable economic development of the port.Finally, in the perspective of cross-border cooperation with Mongolia, the study will give some suggestions to the economic issues in the long-term stable development of Ganqimaodu port.
