Usually we considered the two main ways of the Chinese technological advancesis the independent innovation and technology imitation. Firstly, we introduce factorssuch as the ability to mimic the technology, the technology gap to the model ofendogenous technological advances intermediate product range expansion, the resultsshowed that: it is important in the choice of technology development strategy tomeet the country’s stage of development, When a technology gap betweendeveloping and developed technology is large, we should give top priority to technicalimitation; When developing the technology gap with developed countries is verysmall, we should shift to independent innovation. Then in this paper, we use panel data2001-2012of China empirical test, ourresults show that innovation cannot be effective in improving the total factorproductivity, specifically in the role of technical efficiency is negative, but canimprove the index of technological progress; The technological imitation is the mainsource of technological progress in our country, whether it is through the introductionof technology or on FDI and other channels imitation learning can significantlypromote China’s technological progress. It shows we can through the late-moveradvantage of technology to Promote the progress of their own technology, Inparticular, the foreign direct investment is mainly manifested in improving technicalefficiency, and technology transfer to China will play a positive role in technologicalprogress. It also showed the ability to mimic on the effects of technological imitationis very large, in the current, China’s human capita have the ability l to learn digestionand absorption.
