The rural land consolidation has been emphasized in China in recent years, since it plays an important role in increasing farmland effectively and improve rural environment, and it is beneficial for ensuring food security, stimulating new countryside construction, and the urban-rural coordinated development. However, rural land consolidation also has been bringing about negative effects on the ecosystem and the environment. Nowadays, there are a great number of researches on the environmental impact assessment, and eco-benefit evaluation, but academia pays less attention to the ecological risk coming from land consolidation, not to mention the ecological risk management. Thus, this paper tries to research on the ecological risk management of rural land consolidation. Based on clarifying relative concepts, the paper proposes six dimensions of ecological risk management of rural land consolidation, including three main dimensions, the target, procedure, and life cycle, and three auxiliary dimensions, the organization, techniques and system. Subsequently, on the basis of procedure, the ecological risk identification and ecological risk evaluation are stated in details. Specifically, first of all, the ecological risks are identified by the feature map model, from the aspect of target, the general target, the minimum ecological risk is divided into three sub-targets, the reasonable ecological structure, the appropriate ecological environment and the steady ecological functions. Then, taking life cycle into consideration, the paper explores the possible damaging behaviors, forming the target harm collection. After this, the risks collection is formed. Secondly, the characteristic collection of evaluation indicators is formed from risks collection. Then the evaluation methods of ecological risks are clarified, including the AHP and Matter-Element model. At last, the process of risk control and the three auxiliary dimensions are stated in detail, and the ecological risk management system is established. Taking land consolidation projectin Taihua Town, Yixing City as an example, the paper completes an empirical study of the ecological risk management. The results show that,(1) in general, the level of ecological risk in the project area increased from the conversion to low-risk to the general level, indicating that the land consolidation brought about ecological risk to the project area, but not too serious.(2) ecological structure risk increased risk from low-risk to the general level of risk, due to the decrease of land use diversity and the increase of corridor density. The level of ecological environmental risks drops from the general level of risk to the low level, attributed to the alleviation of land erosion, the increase of vegetation coverage, and the drastic decline of the methane emission from the rice field, but there is still the risk of falling water network density. The level of ecological functions risk increase from risk-free level to the general level, biodiversity, water storing function and the ability to resist floods are faced with different levels of risk.(3) based on the results of risk assessment, the paper puts forward targeted risk control measures. The project area can take or have taken some risk control measures, include:avoiding risks, curbing risk, mitigating risk, converting risk, inhibiting risks and risk retention.(4)Finally, the specific recommendations of the establishment of ecological risk management system of rural land remediation in Yixing is presented.
