Land consolidation can increase the arable land effectively and improve agricultural production conditions, which is significant for alleviating man-land relationship conflicts, protecting the balance of arable land and food security. However, the land consolidation project, after all, a drastic change in the ecological system of the project area, will inevitably have negative ecological effects, namely the existence of objectivity ecological risk. If we can’t recognize the ecological risks and take appropriate coping strategies, it may induce serious environmental problems. Therefore, recognizing the risk factors during the construction of land consolidation project accurately, and taking a scientific method to assess the possibility of ecological risk and the degree of harm the risk factors predisposing, which can provide the basis for avoidance or mitigation of ecological risk and improve eco-efficiency of land consolidation projects.In this paper, the theory of ecological risk assessment will be applied to the land consolidation project, and taking land consolidation project area of Liantang, Zhanggang, Nanyang in Luoxi town, Jinxian county as study area, conducting on the source of ecological risk analysis, risk analysis end and ecological receptors exposure- hazard analysis, to complete the research of the ecological risk formation mechanism of the land consolidation project. Then, selecting 15 indicators in four areas of land from the environment, hydrology, biological environment, landscape pattern, to build evaluation system, and using a simple correlation function method to calculate the index weight objectively and accurately, using matter-element analysis model to calculate the correlation between the risk levels and each index, and then calculate the comprehensive correlation degree to determine the risk level of each land consolidation project area, and make ecological risk management recommendations.The formation mechanism of land consolidation project ecological risk is: the engineering measures which take human activity as the main body, including land leveling, farmland water conservancy, field roadwork and other engineering measures, can be seen as the sources of ecological risk. Through comprehensive ecological role of interference, succession, cumulative, cutting, etc, the ecological risk sources pressures on risk receptors which make up by soil environment, hydrological environment, biological environment and other ecological structure factors, making the structure and function of the ecosystem damage, and performing as negative effects on ecosystems, namely ecological risks.The ecological risk assessment result of land consolidation project shows that the maximum of comprehensive correlation is 0.0899 in Liantang area, belonging to low-risk levels; the maximum of comprehensive correlation is 0.0413 in Zhanggang area, belonging to low-risk levels; the maximum of comprehensive correlation is 0.0645 in Nanyang area, moderate risk level; which indicates the construction of land consolidation project in Luoxi town leads to some ecological risks, but it is manageable. On this basis, referencing project risk management theory and combined with the actual situation of the project area, we can take positive coping strategies to avoid or mitigate ecological risks effectively.
