The Comprehensive Evaluation Of Shijiazhuang Urban Competitiveness

As a background of global integration, the position and leadership of cities are taking a prominent part in the development of countries and regions day by day. The competition between different cities is also growing intensely. Urban competition exhibits competition among different countries and industries. Therefore, a question regarding how to promote the ability of comprehensive competition appeared and it is going to be an important topic in which every city should pay attention to in the long-term. Regarding the development of cities and their dependent territory, research regarding the competitive power of the cities has a significant strategic value and practical meaning.From the background of competitiveness and city-competitiveness study, this dissertation combines theoretical study and empirical research, and combines qualitative study and quantitative study from which, it simply summaries related theories both at home and aboard. It analyses the concept of city-competitiveness and introduces interior and exterior achievements about its study. Based on all these former matters, this paper also draws reference to common methods of competitiveness analysis, evaluation model and indicator system from IDM, Chinese Academy of Society and Society and some other main institutions united with other indicator systems, it improves evaluation indicator system towards regional competitiveness. After synthesizing the advantages and disadvantages of various indicator systems, the paper puts forward a new one which will evaluate city-competitiveness by means of standardized indicator calculation. The index system consists of three first-rank evaluation indexes, the entire first-rank indexes contain sixteen second-rank indexes.On the choice of the research approach, this paper using the factor analysis, comparing the urban competitiveness of23cities in china and give the ranks of main cities from the micro aspect. Finally, confirming the position in the competition of Shijiazhuang and at the same time analyzing the key factor influencing its competitiveness. Finally, on the strength of analysis, the paper puts forward the concrete policy recommendations that will promote the synthesized competitiveness of Shijiazhuang in the future.
