ZPMC is the largest heavy-duty equipment manufacturer in the world and owns26transportation ships of capacity from60’000DWT to100’000DWT, delivering products to all over the world. The entire heavy and large cargo Ro-Ro ship transportation is the one of ten core-competitivenessRo-Ro (roll on/roll off) ships have become the main transportation methods in ZPMC. The safety of Ro-Ro ships transportation affects the whole operation of ZPMC. It is highly concerned by the all levels of company departments.The risk management of heavy and large cargo is a process of hazard identification, risk estimation, risk evaluation and control on a transport system. Risk management in ZPMC Ro-Ro ships transportation has a great practical significance on improving safety management efficiency and level.This thesis includes the following main aspects of research:1. Introduction and analysis on foreign and domestic research development of Ro-Ro ships transportation, as well as the general situation and difficulty of risk management of the heavy and large cargo.2. With the help of risk management theory, this thesis analyzed the factors and hazards affecting the transportation security.3. Based on the hazard identification, risk estimation and risk evaluation, this thesis investigated the overall framework of safety assessment on Ro-Ro ships transportation and established its main methods.
