With the rising cost of labor and rent in china, the profit margins of retailindustry are squeezed. Retail companies should enhance the competitiveness ofenterprises on the basis of control costs if they want to survive and develop in thecompetitive market. Talented person is an important factor which determining thecompetitiveness of company. By comparison, human resource management is moreimportant management job in the retail industry. The pattern of human resourcemanagement for Wal-Mart China is deeply influenced by the pattern of United Statesmanagement, which has the characteristics of humanistic management,institutionalized, personnel cultivation. While the staff turnover rate of Wal-MartChina is lower than other retail enterprises and the level of human resourcemanagement is more mature, its human resources management mode can not beover-obsessed with various systems and that absolutely copy the Americanmanagement model in the Chinese context.Firstly, the paper introduces the meaning and the theory of human resourcemanagement, which elaborates the theory of human resource management model.Itsummarizes the similarity and difference in the pattern of human resourcemanagement of China and the United States. Secondly, the paper analyzes the presentsituation of human resource management, which sums up the status and problem ofhuman resources management of Wal-Mart in china. Then, it gives some suggestionabout the problems in human resource management from the perspective of humanresource management model’s outer and inner module. The article highlights twoaspects of recruitment and training and sums up the new pattern of human resourcemanagement from three aspects of the outer layer module including inner layermodule and core layer. Finally, it illustrates the various required measures for the newpattern of human resource management.There is a huge difference between China and America in social culture, whichlead to that there isn’t a set of complete universal and efficient human resourcesmanagement mode under the two completely different surroundings. In order to raisethe optimizing idea and the safeguard measures of the pattern of human resourcemanagement, the paper combines the theory and the practice and which uses the theory study, comparative analysis and enterprise practice.
