Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) is a maturing and widely developed oxygengeneration technology that has broad application prospects in small and medium sizedoxygen generation. With the development of computer science and technology as well asincreasing industrial automation, there is increasing influence of industrial control systemson industrial automation and an increasing attention is paid to research on monitoringsystem of PSA oxygen generation. This paper focuses on the research status of PSA oxygen generation technology aswell as the development and characteristics of new oxygen generation technologies andindustrial production monitoring technology. In this paper, a PSA experimental monitoring system based on VisualBasic isdeveloped, which enables the function of process parameters writing, experimental dataacquiring, solenoid valve state monitoring, database querying and so on. The programitself has some versatility, which all is of great reference significance for the developmentof industrial production monitoring system. The specific features of the experimentalmonitoring system are as follows:(1) On site controlling of PLC end subroutine. The program can be used as the lowerend program of the monitoring system and has the function of process parametersreceiving, various types solenoid valves controlling, simulation signal colleting and so on.(2) User login. Achieve user classification to ensure the reliability and safety of thesystem.(3) Communication parameter setting. Set the communication parameters to realizecommunication between the computer and the PLC.(4) Process parameters online writing. Process parameters are set in the computerterminal and sent to the PLC control subroutine, thus process parameters online modifyingare enabled.(5) Real-time experimental data acquisition, displaying and saving. The simulationsignal of oxygen concentration and the two columns’ pressure can be read through the main interface of the monitoring system, which will be converted, and then real-timeexperimental data can be obtained, displayed in curves, and stored in the Acess database.(6) Experimental result querying and displaying. By setting the search criteria, theexperimental data can be shown in the form of curves and tables in the computer.
