China’s processing industry is a large user for resource usage which also leads to environmental pollutant. For the completion of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan to achieve energy reduction targets, the processing industry has a more significant social responsibility. Optimization of industrial energy usage and application of the renewable resources, are the important measures to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. This paper is based on a case study, after a field investigation and the analysis, a sugar industry in Guangxi for recycling and wastes as energy optimization, has been chosen for the project. The sugar industry and the paper industry using biomass (sugar cane and the bagasse) as the their raw material, are the pillar industry in Guangxi. After a series of processes they can achieve their sugar and pulp products. This paper describes the phenomenon of irrational usage for the resources by the field work, and it also gives the detailed overview of the manufacturing processes in sugar and paper mills. BY using the ECLIPSE simulation software to establish its complete industrial models and simulate the various stages of the production chain of material input and energy input. Then by analyzing the simulation results to identify the two plants have a potential energy source in the production of waste. Try to make the wastes into the energy and reuse it in the production processes. Simulation results show that these two mills existing some organic matter in their waste emissions. Therefore, try to analysis and assessment the organic wastes from the simulation, and another one is potential spray water which found in the paper mill. At last try to determine which is the best way for reuse the several substances.Based on the above analysis, it can use all the potential organic wastes for the paper plant to design an energy optimization program. Wastes through anaerobic digestion method to generate bio-gas, and the produced biomass can send to the mill’s co-generation system to instead some of he combustion of coal for energy. The final simulation results demonstrate that the improved scheme is reasonable and effective. It can save 10186 ton of coal every year and achieve the goal of 22.5% CO2 emission reductions.
